Description

The Alta cold air intake for the 02-06 Mini Cooper S combines attractive euro inspired looks with a power boost guaranteed to turn any frown upside down. Designed to ingest air from both the stock ram air vent and the rear engine bay, the Alta cold air intake system seals directly to the hood and keeps the intake filter in constant contact with a surge of fresh cold air. This reduces intake air temps and creates and cooler, denser air charge for increased horsepower and torque. The included air box is formed from laser cut aluminum and CNC bent to precision fitment. After construction, the air box is finished in a rich black powder coating for long term protection and a sporty euro look. Alta uses a proprietary foam intake filter to offer superior filtration over traditional cotton designs. Foam filters offer multi-layer protection preventing horsepower loss even when dirty. The inlet hose is constructed from composite layer silicone with mirror smooth interior surfacing, promoting air velocity and eliminating turbulence, a known restriction in the OEM ribbed inlet. The optional cold air intake box top is powder coated to match the system and ensures that your filter will get nothing but frontal cold air only, further reducing intake temps and promoting gains across the powerband.
