Phase 2 Motortrend Carbon Series Hood Damper - Honda S2000 00-09

Description

P2M engine hood dampers are designed to replace the stock hood prop, for a cleaner looking engine bay and makes working around the engine bay convenient without the stock hood prop getting in the way. P2M hood dampers are available in carbon or black series where the carbon series provide carbon sleeve around the body of the hood dampers for unique and distinctive look.

Both carbon and black series hood dampers were constructed using high quality German nitrogen gas shocks to ensure long term reliability and functionality. Each kit are vehicle specific for direct bolt on with all hardware and bracket for install.

When installing please make sure to install the bracket labeled L and R in the right configuration:

L - LEFT DRIVER SIDE (LHD - USDM VEHICLE)
R - RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE (LHD - USDM VEHICLE)

* Some cutting to the under hood weather strip on the left and right fender side is needed (shorter) to make room for the hood damper body in order for the hood to close properly

* Picture car shown also cut the plastic tray area to make sure the hood damper body sits deeper down into the engine bay when hood is closed, by cutting this plastic tray area the hood will be closed and be flushed with the fenders. Without cutting the plastic tray the hood can be closed but some minor slight gap may be visible when viewing from the side of the car although it's not very noticeable

NOTE: All engine hood dampers were designed for stock metal / aluminum hood. Not recommended for Carbon or Fiberglass hood due to weak hood hinge base support might not handle the gas pressure.
