Evasive Motorsports x Hyundai IONIQ 5 N Racecar Returns to Pikes Peak International Hill Climb!

We’re heading back to the mountain. Evasive Motorsports is proud to announce we’re returning for our 11th run at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with our Hyundai IONIQ 5 N Racecar. After a successful climb with Hyundai last year, we couldn’t stay away. This year we’re coming back sharper, with refined suspension and a striking new white livery that gives the car a whole new look heading into race week.

Led by co-founders Mike Chang and Tony Kwan, the team has spent the off-season focused on dialing in the Moton coilover setup developed with Mike Kojima of MotoIQ, building on everything we learned during last year’s event to give our driver more confidence and consistency through the mountain’s 156 demanding corners. The rest of the car remains exactly as it was, the full Voltex Japan aerodynamic package including the carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, fender flares, underbody panels, and rear wing are all carrying over, as this is the extensive weight reduction work done through our EVS Tuning program. Krontec air jacks, Titan 7 T-P10 forged racing wheels, and Yokohama ADVAN A005 racing slicks round out the package on a car that proved itself capable on the 12.52 mile course last year.

Rob Walker returns behind the wheel for 2026. A veteran racing since 2013 and a familiar face in the Evasive Motorsports program, Rob’s deep understanding of both the course and the unique demands of electric vehicle racing make him the perfect fit for this build. He’s continued testing with his own personal IONIQ 5 N in the off-season, feeding valuable data back to the team on tires, brakes, and battery behavior ahead of race week.
